you in your search, we have provided answers to our most frequently
asked questions regarding our selection process.

I sent my resume in a couple of days ago. What is the next
step?
You will receive an acknowledgment that your resume has been received.
If there is an open position that matches your qualifications, we will
contact you to schedule interviews with the Recruitment Team.
Is there any opportunity for career advancement between operating
companies? Does Stop & Shop/Giant Foods promote from within?
Absolutely. We believe in contributing to the personal and professional
growth of our associates. We have an internal job posting process that
helps our associates maximize their career growth and development.
(This includes all Ahold operating companies.) In fact, we post most
opportunities internally first before posting externally.
What is the selection process like?
Once we determine a match with an open position, you will be contacted
for an initial meeting with a member of the Recruitment Team.
All positions require pre-employment skills testing. After the initial
interview, we'll contact you regarding the next steps. This may require
more than one visit to our offices and/or more than one interview.
Our goal is to make this process as convenient and informative for
you as possible. Finally, a drug screening, background check
and references will be checked before any offer of employment is
extended.
What should I wear to my interview?
We would suggest "Business Attire".
What should I bring to the interview?
Please bring detailed work history information on the past (3)
three employers, i.e. names, addresses, phone numbers and reference checks.
This can be contained in a resume. Bring a resume if you have one.
What is Stop & Shop’s interviewing style?
We ask behavioral-based interview questions. These questions
will ask about specific situations you've encountered, as well as your
accomplishments.
How long does the hiring process take?
The hiring process can vary, depending upon many factors, including
the type of skills required and the number of qualified candidates.
Does Stop & Shop relocate?
We do offer some relocation support for qualifying positions.
How do I find out if there are positions available in a specific
store?
All of our stores are individually responsible for handling their hiring
needs. If you're interested in a store position, we encourage you to
apply in person at the location of your choice. For a listing of store
locations, please go to the store locator tab. You can also apply
online by using Jobs Express.
How do I find out if there are positions available in a specific
department?
There are multiple ways to search this Web site for current openings
at our corporate offices. A keyword search on the Job Search page will
provide you with the largest and most inclusive list.
What are your benefits?
Stop & Shop offers one of the most comprehensive and competitive
benefit programs. You'll find a description in the Benefits section of
this Website. The Recruitment Team can provide more information
on benefits of particular interest or concern to you. Store and distribution
associates are also entitled to benefits. Your eligibility is governed
by the local union contract. For more information, please inquire at
your local store or distribution center.
Do you have any part-time jobs?
Yes. We have a number of part-time employment opportunities in our
stores. Please visit your local store to learn more, or visit the
Stores section of our Web site. There are a limited number of part-time
opportunities available in our offices. Please check our open opportunities

How can I be sure that the position that I’m applying
for hasn't already been filled?
We make every effort to remove job postings as soon as a position is
filled. You will receive an acknowledgment of resume receipt, and we
will contact you if your qualifications match any open position.
Will I receive feedback on my interview?
We make every effort to give feedback to all candidates regarding
interviews, either in person or in writing.
Does Stop & Shop have an employee discount?
Our Associate Discount Program offers all associates and the family members in their household five (5)% savings off of every net dollar spent which runs periodically.
